๐Ÿšจ Safety TipsADULT REQUIRED!

  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ๐Ÿšจ ADULT SUPERVISION ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED!
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธThis experiment involves REAL FIRE โ€” not for kids to do alone
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธDo this OUTSIDE in an open area
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธWear safety goggles
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธKeep hair tied back and loose clothing secured
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธHave water nearby just in case
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธStand far back โ€” the fireball is brief but hot!

๐Ÿ“‹ Step-by-Step

Step 1: โš ๏ธ ADULT REQUIRED!

This experiment involves REAL FIRE! An adult MUST do the fire parts. Kids can watch from a safe distance and learn the science!

Step 2: Set Up Safely

Step 3: Light the Candle

Step 4: Load the Tube

Step 5: ๐Ÿ”ฅ FIREBALL!

๐Ÿ”ฌ Why It Booms!

Here's something wild: a pile of cornstarch won't catch fire easily, but a cloud of cornstarch EXPLODES! Why? Surface area! When the powder is spread in the air, each tiny particle is surrounded by oxygen. The fire can reach all of them at once = instant FIREBALL! This is the same reason grain elevators and flour mills can sometimes explode โ€” floating dust + a spark = BOOM!

๐Ÿคฏ Fun Facts

๐Ÿ’ก

Grain elevator explosions are a real industrial hazard โ€” same science!

๐Ÿ’ก

Astronauts use this same principle โ€” powdered rocket fuel burns way faster than a solid chunk!

๐Ÿ’ก

Sugar, flour, sawdust, and even powdered metal can create fireballs the same way!

๐Ÿ’ก

Scientists call this a dust explosion โ€” they study it to make factories safer!
