Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide at -78ยฐC (-109ยฐF)! That's WAY colder than regular ice. When it hits warm water, it skips being a liquid and goes straight to gas โ this is called sublimation. The white fog you see is actually tiny water droplets that form when the super-cold COโ gas cools the air around it, just like your breath on a cold day!
